In May 1992, during his opening remarks at TECO's first IAC meeting under new ownership, TECO Owner and President Ed Starostovic said the IAC was a meeting of clients, for clients, and assured representatives of the eleven client companies in attendance that the meeting would center on their needs and concerns. He and his staff were there to interact, but more importantly listen and learn how TECO could better serve its clients. This continued TECO's decades-long tradition, begun in 1933, of encouraging and promoting a direct link to the industry. Hosted annually every year since, TECO's IAC meeting has remained an important and critical means for TECO staff to interact with clients, and clients to interact with each other, with open and honest discussions about challenges facing the wood products industry.
